A Couple Of Articles….

Haven’t added anything for a while. Not that I haven’t got anything to say but just from sheer laziness 😦 That’s going to change over the next week or so….

But in the meantime, here’s a couple of articles from the Transgenderuniverse.com website. A great place to visit for thoughts and inspiration!

Coming Out…

Over the last twelve months I have been slowly coming out to my friends and letting them meet Stephanie. In general, the reactions have been positive and I’ve had support from people who I wouldn’t have thought would be behind me.

I first told my two closest friends and I was shocked when one of them said that he’d always known I was transgender and that if it had been a problem he would have walked away years ago! I won’t say who he is but you know who you are and I thank you for your honesty – it means so much to me at this point in my life! With friends like this, I can face anything the world throws at me!

What Would My Mum And Dad Say?

Sadly, they are both long gone but I’ve always wondered what my parents would have said if I’d been able to tell them about being transgender. I guess I would have said that although I was born their son, the fates had really meant them to have a daughter! That I’m happy in my skin in a way I’ve never been before!

I’m sure that after the initial ‘shock’ they would have been supportive as they always were while they were alive. The number of times they helped me is immeasurable and priceless!

Mum and Dad, I miss you both!

Where To Begin?

I guess a journey has to start somewhere. But where to start a blog when I’ve been on this journey all my life?

So I thought why not start from the day I made a decision to become a transgender woman permanently. So I’ve picked the 21st June 2017 as that was the day I referred myself to the Trans Support Services of the NHS here in Liverpool. This is now my rebirthday! 🙂

Over time, I will be posting my story so far along with my journey as it unfolds.

Why “Stephanie Says…”?

The obvious answer is that my name’s Stephanie! However, I was visiting one of my friends, Sara, and her friend, Lisa, had sent a link to a cover of a Velvet Underground song called “Stephanie Says”. One thought led to another and I had the idea that the title would make a great name for a blog! So why not blog about me and my journey??

So a big, big, thank you to Lisa for inspiring me to start this blog!!!!! xxxx

And here’s the link… Enjoy!!!
